Reichen Steinkohlenvorkommen verdankt Sachsen seine Vorreiterrolle bei der Industrialisierung Deutschlands. Von Beginn an haben Menschen mit ihrem Erfindergeist und ihrem Engagement den sächsischen Steinkohlenbergbau geprägt. Umgekehrt haben auch die „schwarzen Diamanten“ Landschaft und Menschen in den Abbaugebieten geformt. In diesem Spannungsfeld zwischen Technologie, Natur und Gesellschaft nimmt die Schauplatz-Ausstellung im Bergbaumuseum Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge ihre Besucher mit auf eine Erlebnisr

Die Erkundungstour rund um den weithin sichtbaren Förderturm des Lugau-Oelsnitzer Reviers steht unter dem Motto Kohle – Erbe – Wandel. Was haben Karl Marx und Otto Lilienthal mit der Steinkohle zu tun? Welchen Rekord stellte Adolf Hennecke auf? Wer war Willibald Mayerl? Auf ihrem Weg durch die Ausstellung begegnen unsere Besucher vielen Persönlichkeiten, deren Leben eng mit der sächsischen Steinkohle verbunden war. 

Es begleiten sie aber auch Menschen, die als Erben der Steinkohlentradition dieses sächsische Kulturerbe bewahren, den Wandel nach der Stilllegung gestaltet haben und dies bis heute tun. Realistische Inszenierungen und zahlreiche Großexponate im Innen- und Außenbereich machen den Besuch in diesem industriellen Originalschauplatz der sächsischen Steinkohlenförderung für jede Generation zu einer abenteuerlichen Entdeckungsreise: 

Der Gang durch einen „Steinkohlenwald“ vermittelt, wie vor über 300 Millionen Jahren riesige Bäume und Farne zu Steinkohle gepresst wurden. In unserem Anschauungsbergwerk rattert schweres Abbaugerät in dunklen Schächten. 

Weitere Höhepunkte sind Sachsens größte funktionstüchtige Dampffördermaschine mit 1.500 PS oder ein interaktives Schachtmodell, an dem Hobbybergmänner und -frauen multimedial selbst Kohle fördern können. 

In der zur Landesausstellung erstmals öffentlich zugänglichen, restaurierten und sanierten „alten Schmiede“, dem ältesten Gebäude auf dem Werksgelände, erzählen ausgewählte Exponate, Fotografien, Zeichnungen und Pläne 800 Jahre Geschichte der Steinkohlengewinnung in Sachsen.

Guided Tours

Die Besichtigung der Ausstellung kann individuell gestaltet werden. Planen Sie hierfür gern eine 1,5 Stunden ein. 
Für geführte Gruppen ist eine individuelle Anpassung der Dauer möglich. 

Zusätzlich finden 11.30, 13.30, 15 und 16.30 Uhr Führungen durch das Anschauungsbergwerk der Ausstellung statt. 
Hierfür sollten Sie zusätzlich ca. 1 Stunde einplanen. 
Die Vorführung der Dampfmaschine dauert ca. 15 Min. und findet 11, 13, 14.30 sowie 16 Uhr im Fördermaschinenhaus statt.
