Over the past few years Richard Prentice has studied the local coal mining industry in this small harbour village on the west coast of Wales. Whilst this village is now known for its fishing and holiday attraction it once had an industrial heritage that provided coal to Queen Victoria’s residences.
Adding to an existing collection of Colliery Pots that were exhibited in London in 2017 at the Woolf Gallery for Welsh Art Week, Richard has developed a new body of work using a black coarse clay and precious metal lustres.
