Begleitband zur Ausstellung zum 300. Geburtstag von Anna Louisa Karsch. Kaum eine Dichterin hat die Zeitgenossen und die Nachwelt so fasziniert wie Anna Louisa Karsch (1722-1791). Der reich bebilderte Begleitband zur Ausstellung aus Anlass ihres 300. Geburtstages setzt sich kritisch mit der Darstellung auseinander, dass Karsch Anfang der 1760er Jahre »plötzlich« Poetin geworden sei. Vielmehr wird ihre lange (Schreib-)Biografie sowie auch die ihrer Tochter Caroline Luise von Klencke und ihrer Enkelin Helmina von Chézy in der Ausstellung verfolgt und es wird umfassend in Karschs Werk eingeführt. Hierbei erfahren die »Tränentexte«, ihre Endreimgedichte und Briefe sowie ihr autobiografisch-geprägtes Schreiben eine neue Bewertung. Versammelt werden Aufsätze, in denen bekannte Texte neu gelesen und unbekannte erstmalig interpretiert werden. Weitere Beiträge liefern neue Erkenntnisse zum (auch internationalen) Erfolg der Dichterin.
