Der Bildhauer Daniel Priese, geb. 1962 in Berlin, gehört zu den profiliertesten Künstlern des Harzkreises. Die vorliegende Publikation stellt sein Werk in einer Polarität von Figürlichkeit und Abstraktion dar. Einen Brennpunkt bildet dabei die Skulpturengruppe „Zwei Herren in Betrachtung des Doms“, die eine optische und semantische Klammer zwischen dem Halberstädter Dom und dem Gleimhaus darstellt und schnell zu einer Art Wahrzeichen des geistigen Halberstadt geworden ist. Einen weiteren Brennpunkt bilden Prieses Werkgruppen abstrakter Skulptur „Segment“ und „Interface“, in denen die Schnittfläche als spezielles Formprinzip ausgebildet ist. Sie ist für Priese ein integraler Bestandteil der Form und führt ihn zu einer ureigenen Spielart der Bildform Torso.
